MIRAGE JT 220 TRANSFORMER (F)

The Mirage JT 220 Transformer is an ultra-innovative swimbait that Iroshi has dubbed the Transformer! It is, in fact, the first to feature a joint spacing adjustment system that allows you to adjust the rear section’s range of motion. This makes it possible to adjust the tail’s range of motion and, consequently, the width of its S-shaped swim. The wider the swim, the slower the lure can be retrieved.

The Mirage JT 220 Transformer also features a unique removable lip that allows it to swim at two different depths. Reversible, it makes the lure dive X meters in one direction and X meters in the other. Revolutionary!

With a simple linear retrieve on the reel, the Mirage JT 220 Transformer develops a very natural S-shaped swim. The horizontal front attachment amplifies this swimming action. When jerked, it veers off course with sharp lateral swerves while wobbling on its own axis. During pauses, it sinks slowly horizontally while wobbling on its own axis, just like a wounded prey would.

This swimbait features a highly innovative system that allows it to achieve record casting distances for a three-piece articulated lure: the pendulum lock system. This patented system is revolutionary because it locks the movable tail during the cast—allowing the lure to stay perfectly on line like an arrow. The Mirage JT 161 is even one of the few swimbaits equipped with a tungsten ball weight transfer system in the tail. Combined, these two technologies allow it to achieve exceptional casting distances for a swimbait.

With an exceptional finish, the Mirage JT 161 is the perfect swimbait for targeting large predatory fish (big pike, large black bass, etc.). Note that its creator, Iroshi Takahashi, originally designed it for saltwater use on large predators (sea bass, amberjack, barracuda, etc.)—which is rare for a swimbait.
