The L-Jack Anchovy Spoon is considered a reliable, must-have for saltwater fishing.
Ultra-versatile, it can be used with a wide range of techniques.
With an ultra-fluttering action, it darts from side to side, makes sharp turns, and descends while oscillating on its own axis with strong lateral drifts.
Thanks to its streamlined profile and flat sides, the L-Jack Anchovy Spoon jerks at the slightest twitch, making wide, sweeping turns. The advantage of this erratic and unpredictable action is that it heightens the natural aggression of marine predators.
Indeed, prey being hunted are accustomed to suddenly changing direction to escape the predators chasing them.
By faithfully replicating the behavior of these panicked baitfish, the L Jack Anchovy Spoon provokes predators to attack it.
Thanks to its tapered profile and beveled nose, this casting jig cuts perfectly through the water with a fast and precise swim.
Its curved edges combined with its high sides give it great responsiveness and cause it to oscillate on its axis during the descent.
On each side, it features a holographic film that reflects rich iridescent flashes over long distances. This film captures even the slightest light and diffracts it in all directions for maximum attractiveness.
SHORE JIGGING: The Anchois Spoon is ideal for shore jigging. This technique, practiced from the top of rocky outcrops, involves working a casting jig with twitches to mimic a fleeing prey.
You can target bottom-dwelling predators by letting the casting jig sink to the bottom after a series of jerks. The advantage of the Anchois L Jack spoon is that it offers a twirling descent that is just as enticing as the upward retrieve. This near-bottom presentation will attract red seabream, red porgy, red mullet, pollock, rockfish, etc., but also open-water fish hunting near the substrate under certain conditions, such as sea bass and barracuda.
It is also possible to perform an upward retrieve using jerks from the bottom to the surface to cover all water layers. Although it is possible to catch bottom-dwelling fish when starting from the bottom, this technique is primarily intended for pelagic species found in open water, such as bonito, yellowtail, etc.
FISHING IN SCHOOLS: Thanks to its responsiveness to twitches, it is also perfect for fishing in schools of small pelagic species such as bonito, skipjack, little tunny, dolphinfish, and sea bass. Offering high density, this casting jig casts very accurately over long distances even in headwinds, allowing you to easily reach schools that are difficult to approach. It also allows you to maintain a respectable distance to avoid spooking the predators.
DANDINE: This extremely simple technique allows you to target predators that are slower than pelagic species and live in the immediate vicinity of structures near the bottom (such as rockfish or sea bass). The Anchovy Spoon will, of course, perform well when used with the so-called “lift” technique in waters less than 30 meters deep. This requires anticipating the boat’s movement by casting ahead of the drift, so you’re directly above the target when you start the retrieve. This is a slow retrieval technique punctuated by pauses over wrecks, steep drop-offs, areas with tall, dense seaweed beds, etc. You’ll then target sea bass, pollock, wrasse, red porgy, white porgy, and grey mullet...
Safety: Sharp hooks; handle with care. Wearing gloves is recommended. Keep out of reach of children.
Care: Rinse with fresh water and let dry
