The drop net is a horizontal square net suspended from a four-rod frame, used for shrimp, eel and small-fish fishing on the coast or in estuaries. A traditional, very ancient French technique still widely practised in the South-West, in Brittany and in Vendée.
You will find traditional drop nets in cotton-mesh (heritage models), modern drop nets in synthetic mesh (improved degradation resistance), telescopic drop nets (folding frames for transport), fixed drop nets for piers (large dimensions, short handle), and matched accessories (lifting winches, pulleys, ropes).
