Fishing pliers are the swiss-army tool at the water's edge: they unhook a deep hook, crimp a sleeve, fix a split ring, cut a line. A good plier must be 316 stainless (corrosion), have wet grip (rubberised handle), and ship with a lanyard so you don't drop it overboard.
