The Wide Basal VT81L is a new version of the popular Basal series featuring a wider spool for increased line capacity.

This baitcasting reel features a jigging handle that’s perfect for all types of vertical fishing at sea. The highly ergonomic, round high-density EVA fighting grip prevents hand fatigue and allows you to apply more power during the fight.

The Wide Basal boasts a massive gear ratio of 8.1:1, allowing it to retrieve 99 cm per crank.

Combined with its record-breaking capacity for such a compact and lightweight reel (330 g), it is therefore ideal for vertical saltwater fishing—including in deep waters or in strong currents.

Perfect for use with slow jigs, jigs, madais, kaburas, heavy tenyas, high-quality soft lures, inchikus, etc., to target snappers, sea bass, pollock, dentex, amberjack, capelin, etc.
