These jigs have been specifically designed for all your drop-shot and tataki setups, whether fishing from shore or from a boat.

Thanks to their soft gel body, Shamalos move in the water just like live bait.
When worked vertically (e.g., tataki), their buoyant structure allows for a slow descent and very natural movement.
During the day, their sturdy iridescent fabric captures even the slightest glimmer of light, reflecting it as highly attractive flashes.
At night or in deep water, their fully phosphorescent bodies allow them to be spotted by cephalopods from very long distances.

Since the soft body of the Shamalos perfectly mimics that of live prey, squid and cuttlefish will hold onto them longer in their tentacles during an attack.
Similarly, their fabric coating also allows for better suction cup grip, further optimizing the hookset.

In rigs consisting of a string of several jigs, they are particularly well-suited for modern tataki fishing.
