The squid jig (egi) is the lure dedicated to fishing for cephalopods — cuttlefish, squid, calamari — increasingly popular in the Mediterranean and progressively adopted on the Atlantic coast. The principle: a tapered fabric-covered body, a crown of cleats at the rear that hooks the cephalopod on the bite, and a lead system that produces a characteristic oblique fall.
You will find squid jigs by weight and depth (from 1.5 g for shallow water to 25 g+ for vertical boat fishing), by colour (orange and pink for Mediterranean cuttlefish, blue and green for night squid, natural for clear waters), and by technique (egi for the shore, vertical jig for the boat, drift fishing for static use). UV colours now dominate for night fishing.
This section is led by Yo-Zuri (Japanese, reference on lead-weighted squid jigs) and Sea Squid, complemented by the Flashmer range and Fu-Shima on egging references for squid and cuttlefish. Duel and Ecoline round out the offer.
