As early as 1902, James Heddon invented the first prop bait in history. In 1925, he created the Torpedo, which has since become the best-selling prop bait in the history of lures. With its streamlined shape reminiscent of the legendary Mini Spook, the Teeny Torpedo is a topwater lure that leaves no predator indifferent.

With its aerodynamics and perfect balance, it casts long distances with formidable precision. Thanks to its tail propeller, this small prop bait creates as much surface disturbance as a much larger lure.

On a simple straight retrieve, it produces a loud buzzing sound and a significant wake. As the propeller rotates, the round-section body oscillates from side to side and vibrates intensely. When worked with short jerks, it churns up the water, creating strings of attractive bubbles. Small in size, the Torpedo will be just a small bite for wary or wary fish.

Retrieved slowly in a straight line in open water, this prop bait has a knack for triggering the aggression of all predators. A lure that is also incredibly effective when worked with a “stop-and-go” retrieve along banks, weed beds, or submerged branches where predators lie in wait.
