The fishing lamp is the central gear of any night or bivouac fishing: it lets you tie a leader, handle a fish, look for bait in the kit without flooding the whole zone with light (and thus without disturbing the fish). A good fishing kit usually includes a head lamp (hands-free) and a backup lamp (zone illumination).
