Luminous glow sticks (starlites) are small phosphorescent cartridges to clip onto the rod tip for night fishing, or to insert into a luminous-float starlite holder. They activate by bending the cartridge (mixing two chemical components) and emit light for 6 to 12 hours, enough for a full surfcasting night session.
You will find starlites in various diameters (3 mm for ultra-fine match-rod tips, 4.5 mm standard for most surfcasting rods, 6 mm for heavy big-game rods), various colours (green for maximum brightness, red to preserve angler night vision), and various autonomies (4 to 12 h). Sold individually or in 50-packs for regular anglers.
This section is led by Starlite and complemented by the Flashmer range. Starlites should be stored cool (ideally in a fridge) to preserve packet shelf life.
