Lead does two essential jobs: it carries and holds the rig at the target depth, and adds enough weight for accurate casting in any wind and current. The right lead at the right moment is often the difference between a productive session and a blank one.
This section gathers our leads by use: olive and split-shot leads for coarse fishing and drift presentations, English and running leads for feeder fishing, surfcasting leads (rigged, breakaway, gripper) calibrated to hold against drift over sand or shingle, ball and torpedo leads for trolling and bottom fishing, jigging leads (octopus, oval) for vertical saltwater fishing. Weights run from 0.1 g (split shot) up to 500 g and beyond for big-game and big-surf use.
The leads catalogue is mainly composed of the Flashmer range, complemented by Scratch Tackle on leads dedicated to freshwater fishing and Explorer Tackle on specialised leads. All gripper and breakaway leads are supplied with an integrated swivel or attachment ring matched to the intended use.
