Extremely durable, massive capacity, impressive braking power: the Elan Super Widepower Plus 71 BL is a baitcasting reel worthy of every superlative. Its nickname in Japan speaks for itself: monster machine! It is the beefed-up version of the Elan Widepower Plus—a Tailwalk reel that has become legendary for its power.

The frame and side plates are made of die-cast aluminum for maximum durability. The diameter of the winding gear has also been increased. Its ultra-deep spool, with a diameter of 43 mm, offers record-breaking capacity (PE4: 270 m!)

Equipped with a centrifugal drag system, the Elan Super Widepower Plus 71 BL can be used for both casting and vertical fishing. Tailwalk therefore ships it standard with two handles (a first!). A single handle designed for vertical fishing, adjustable to two positions (75 / 90 mm), with a round EVA fighting grip. A 120 mm dual handle made of duralumin, designed for casting.

This reel is therefore ideal for freshwater fishing with large lures after record-breaking predators worldwide (trophy pike, catfish, peacock bass, barramundi, salmon, etc.).

Equipped with the jigging handle, its enormous capacity and power also make it a perfect saltwater reel for all vertical fishing techniques (jigging, slow jigging, madais, kaburas, inchikus, etc.) to target sea bass, pollock, red porgy, striped beakfish, amberjack, capon, etc.
