A "stinger" rig specifically designed for your Explorer Fireball and Explorer Tackle. A 20 cm rig featuring 1 sliding treble hook and 1 octopus hook in-line. The black heat-shrink tubing on the treble hook provides a tight fit on the leader, allowing you to adjust the rig size to match the live bait. The tubing on the octopus hook protects the knot from the teeth of predatory fish and prevents snagging on weeds.
This “stinger”-style rig allows you to effectively rig long live baits (e.g., fish, squid, etc.) on your Fireball to optimize your hookset on the strike.
Extremely sturdy welded ring for easy attachment to the lower eye of your Explorer Fireball using a clip, split ring, etc.
High-strength assist line. Ideal for all Fireball fishing for benthic predators (snappers, red seabream, red porgy, etc.) or pelagic predators (amberjack, bonito, etc.)
Note: This rig can also be used for catfish fishing with large live bait, with the treble hook set at the dorsal fin and the single hook hanging below the fish.
This type of rig optimizes self-hooking because the octopus is easily sucked in during the strike.
